Kite Skating
May. 2nd, 2004 08:47 pmI went kite skating again today. The wind was just right and the National Guard Training field in Sea Girt was pretty much empty. There was a soccer game finishing up, but once they left it was just me and a golfer, and he didn't try to hit any balls at me as far as I could tell.
I wore the big wheeled skates of Peter's that I took from him last fall. I'm not sure if they work better than my normal skates or not, but maybe... a smoother ride, and better up-wind capabilities... I'm not sure because the wind was so much stronger today than last week.
I really want someone to come and take pictures and video of me next time. Please?
Also, anyone have any big open fields or parking lots near them? I've only gone on grass so far, but I'm told that pavement isn't really that difficult. I don't know... getting dragged across the sand on my stomach so many times kind of scares me to think about flying on pavement. But, I haven't been dragged on my stomach while wearing skates.. only when trying to stand in one spot... so maaaybe... Definitely gotta wear knee and elbow pads though.
