*"16th Winter Deaflympics"*

*SALT LAKE CITY**, UTAH*

Salt Lake City will be hosting the 16th Winter Deaflympics in February of
2007. The competition, which draws Deaf and Hard of Hearing athletes from
around the globe, happens every four years, one year after its more famous
Olympic counterpart for hearing athletes is held. In fact, the Deaflympics
will be hosted at the same venue in Utah as was the 2002 Winter
Olympics. Thousands of spectators, as well as a full cadre of media
outlets, are once again anticipated to attend the multi-day event.

The US Winter Team, under the auspices of the USA Deaf Sports Federation,
will be competing in several events including: snowboarding, cross-country
skiing, alpine skiing, and ice hockey. In addition, there will be a special
international team to demonstrate and promote the sport of curling during
the Deaflympics. If you would like more information regarding the
individual members of the US Winter Team, please visit
http://2007.usdeafsports.org/ and click on the Athletes link.

The US Winter Team is underwritten by several organizations, most notably:
Sorenson, Karbon, Gallaudet University, and Birnbaum Interpreting Services.

The USA Deaf Sports Federation and the 2007 US Winter Team would like to
extend their appreciation to these great sponsors for their generous
support. If you or your organization is also interested in helping sponsor
the 2007 US Winter Team, please contact Bridget Bonheyo, US Winter Team
Sponsorship/Development Specialist, at Bonheyo@2007.usdeafsports.org for
further information.

With everyone's encouragement and backing in 2007, our home team will be
sure to win plenty of bronze, silver, and gold medals for US!
