Shenandoah

Shenandoah National Park is so beautiful... The Skyline Drive spans 105 miles through Virginia and then connects to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It cost me $10 to enter the park, and if I'd had more cash I might have bought the Natl Park season pass for $50. Between this park and Great Falls I might use that much...

Its definitely more fun to drive than Rt 29 since I'm going back to DC from Charlottesville anyway.

Why bother

I had DSL. I've never had good luck with it for some reason. Came home from the weekend and all the modem lights except Power and Ethernet link... Tried to do a live chat via dialup on the Earthlink website but got cut off. So now, relay via sidekick AIM.

Their phone tree connected me rather quickly, but to a dial up person. But wait, on the website it had 3 different numbers (well more really) for dialup sales, dialup support, adsl sales, adsl new service installation, and adsl support for existing service...

So I had the relay call the support one for adsl. They navigated the tree and the person who answers says she has to transfer me because she only handles dialup. #$%^&???

The next guy won't help me because I'm using a mac. I told him that it worked fine Friday, I didn't touch it all weekend, and now the modem doesn't have the right lights lit up. I doubt it's anything to do with my computer. But he transferred me anyway.

The third one, is actually asking for my account name. That's a start perhaps?

Still on the phone with tech 'support'
Finally made it clear that it wasn't a computer problem, there Is No DSL link at all! But we still had to try the other jack, and the other cables. I do it all just in case.

Now I'm on hold to speak to a 'line specialist'

Wow.

Cause I know you're all wondering...
Off the phone.... Nothing solved, the Line Specialist put a ticket in to the 'DSL Vender' and I should call back between 7am and midnight tomorrow. Super.
