Sometimes I just make really good impressions on people without knowing what I did...
As for the positions... Doesn't sound like I'd be bored, so it would probably be OK.
I've got too much going on though!
Will be glad to escape it all for VA Beach on Saturday! (I should pack!)

Sara,
Many thanks for your note. Scott says you are an exceptionally capable and
motivated worker that would be particularly good at what we do. His
recommendation carries great weight with me both professionally and
technically--we have a common background, and he knows about our systems and
processes in detail from his previous job.
We have been asked by the JSF Program Office in Crystal City, VA, to add a
"Configuration Manager" to our current requirements development and analyst
team of Joe Nemes and Helene Smith. This is a new position that must be
integrated into our long-term requirements management work for them.
Although the specific task details are yet to be developed, we expect to be
able to fill this on 1 October, and would fill it sooner with the right
person. To give you an idea of what we're doing there now (not what the new
position will do--but certainly related), I've attached a "marketing piece"
written by Telelogic, producers of the DOORS database that is at the heart
of our Requirements Management System, about our work for the JSF program.
The second position that may be of interest is not yet our work. We're
currently bidding to use our Requirements Management System (RMS) to support
requirements and specification development and validation for the CVN-21 air
wing. This has been a goal of ours since last fall, but the program office
has considered and rejected at least a couple of "flashier" alternatives
while we've waited in the background. They are in the process of at least
one more of these alternatives, but I have high confidence that we'll get
the nod on this eventually. Although you might be better suited to this
position by way of your experience (and interest?), I think you'd find
either one highly challenging and personally rewarding.
The JSF position is firm; the CVN-21 work remains tentative for the near
term. When would you be available? This may be the key factor in encouraging
you toward one position or the other.
