I've lost my cell phone/sidekick. I may go retrace my steps this afternoon before leaving Ithaca... but I'm not optimistic about finding it. I called it last night, but no one answered. I'm sure the battery is dead now. The worst thing was that I don't know anyone's phone number, so I couldn't call
mhaithaca and let him know, for example.
I drove up to Ithaca on Friday night. Stopped in Binghamton to visit and then met Mark and we went to dinner. Really gooood dinner. Mmmm. Went to see Steve's play on Saturday morning and then spent the afternoon and evening with him. We walked down the hill and to the Commons. That's probably where my phone is. He got coffee at the ABC Cafe, and then we went to the Mate Factor. They observe the sabbath so it was self-serve and donations only. I liked that. Not too busy, great place to sit and talk. The Mate was good, reminded me of green tea, maybe because it was really green. After that we walked around a bit, visited a cool music type store. They have wooden windchimes. I'm going to go back and get some when I start feeling like spending money again. For now, no money being spent and I don't want to break the good habit.
After that we walked to Hal's Deli and I had split pea soup (without remembering that it would be the same ick-green color as the Mate was). Maybe my phone is there... I should have checked my pockets more often, but I remember thinking 'nobody needs to talk to me, pay attention to Steve instead of tapping on that thing.)
Then we went back up the hill to look for his roommate and other cast members. They were supposed to go to dinner together. I got invited along as they were just going a few doors down to Aladins. I like Aladins mostly because its cheap. The Pitas are always good.
Its weird to spend time with someone whose hearing aids squeak :)
Mark brought a computer to Steve's place, but it wouldn't boot. I tried the ethernet jack with my laptop and didn't get an IP address... so who knows if he'll get online or not. Doesn't look too promising.
I don't want to drive home, but I'm afraid I probably should get moving along.
